Greg Hovanesian is a playwright, actor, and theatre producer based in Boston, MA.  His plays have been produced by Boston Actors’ Theater, Gallery Players, the Nora Theatre Company (Boston Theater Marathon XXI), Hovey Players (24-Hour Marathon), Target Stage Company (Boston Theater Marathon XXII, Zoom Edition), Image Theater, UAE Theater Festival, Jacklyn Thrapp LLC, the Boston One-Minute Play Festival, Jakespeare Virtual Theatre Company, River’s Edge Arts Alliance, Playwrights’ Platform, and Ya Bird? Productions.  In 2016 his one-act play Water won Best Play at the Playwrights’ Platform’s 44th Annual Festival of New Plays.  His monologue The Look was published by New World Theatre in 2018 as part of A Solitary Voice: A Collection of Epic Monologues.  He has self-produced his plays with his company, Ya Bird? Productions, at the Rockwell (Somerville, MA) and the Players’ Ring Theatre (Portsmouth, NH).  Greg is also an actor who was awarded Best Actor at the Playwrights’ Platform’s 44th Festival of New Plays in 2016.  He is the Social Media Coordinator for the New England New Play Alliance, and belongs to StageSource and the Dramatists Guild of America.  From 2018-2021 he was President of Playwrights’ Platform.  He also writes poetry and has performed his poems at the Lizard Lounge, the Cantab Lounge, and Haley House.
